Mindmap:

First I did some research on existing collectible toys and figures on the market, these consisted of mainly children's TV show toys and anime collectibles. The colour schemes were bright and most always had some form of dynamic posing.

Next I did some logo ideas on paper before bringing them to colour and render on Illustrator:
I wanted to go for a futuristic/ icy blue and white theme so I used straight lines using the pen tool and a blue gradient. Since the name 'BASE ZERO' ends in 'ZERO', I thought to use two triangles on the sides to appear like a number counter and for some of the sides to be white to blend in with the background.

Finally I decided on no borders and more gradients for the final design and straightened the edges:

Next I did an Illustrator artwork for a simplified version of the main character (Chibi), inspired by the bright colours and dynamic expressive posing of modern anime chibi figurines.
School Uniform version:

Game Outfit version: decided against the hat so the recognisable pink hair can still be seen.

Next, I did a pencil sketch of the potential box idea:
And created the digital version on Illustrator:

Finally, I printed out the final design on card paper and scored it and folded to make the box:
The only issue in this mockup version was that the top you can see in the images had broken as the line was too thin and I did not account for the empty arc at the top for the fold so I manually cut it with scissors. The colours did also come out a bit faded so I saturated it a bit by editing the photos.
All in all, I am mostly satisfied with the box outcome.
This was the figure of my main character that I made with polymer clay (front, side and back):
