David Hockney was born in 9th July 1937. He was an English painter printmaker and designer of the 20th century. His wit and creativity makes itself present all throughout his artwork; his most famous pieces of work are through polariod pictures. Hockney has over 40 exhibition logs and mentions in over 40 books since the 1970s as well as also a small number of journal articles.

He created The David Hockney Foundation in 2008 and has been using it to appreciate fine arts and understanding visual art and culture. The foundation owns over 8000 pieces of Hockney's work and lends them to exhibitions all year round the world.

David Hockney's polariod work is created using a series of clipping masks and polariod pictures. The artstyle has ties to the way a human eye works, in that there are multiple perspectives and zoom ins at the same time.

His artwork is unique in the way that it allows the viewer to see from the same perspective as the photographer, as we are drawn to what he highlights in the photos and what he chooses to highlight. A sense of movement and time is challenged as the viewer watches from Hockney's artistic viewpoint.

My response:

In conclusion, this is how my final piece inspired by David Hockney turned out.

I am satisisfied with how it came out, although I definitely could've done more different zooms.

I started off by saving an image of a polariod transparent png on the internet then cut out the centre of the image.

I created a black rectangle using the shape tool in order to see the area clearly.

Then I copied my original image using Cmd+J and put it on top of the other layers.

Later, I added a clipping mask onto the copy of the image so that the image would only appear where the black rectangle was.

By using Cmd+T I enlarged/made smaller areas of my image to recreate a different image of myself inspired by Hockney.

I found that although the process was simple, it was time consuming and I often got confused over the multiple similar layers of the same image and names.

In foresight I should'v renamed all of my layers to make it more organised.
